My Cat, the Unsung UX Supporter

Meet my cat, Jokull my most loyal (and judgmental) design assistant.
While he may not know what a user flow is, he does know when I’ve been staring at the same screen too long. His well-timed paw on my keyboard? That’s a gentle reminder to take a break and reset.
Here’s why he’s actually a top-tier UX supporter:
He forces breaks - and with them, fresh eyes.
Some of my best design decisions have happened after stepping away to refill the water bowl (his or mine).
He teaches me about intuitive interaction
He doesn’t read instructions, but he’ll find his way to the warmest spot in the house every time. Good design should work the same way, natural, frictionless, and maybe a little cozy.
He’s a master of feedback
He doesn’t sugarcoat. If something’s not working (aka I’m ignoring him), I hear about it. A reminder that clear signals and honest responses matter, whether from users or felines.
So here’s to all the pets keeping us grounded, observant, and slightly fur-covered.
UX is about people but sometimes it’s our animals that remind us how to design with care, patience, and play.
